Body parts name in Hindi and English are some of the very first words a toddler learns, because your child can touch every one of them. "Where is your नाक? Where is your nose?" is a game most Indian families already play. This page adds 30 picture cards, from head to toe plus four parts inside the body, each spoken in Hindi and English with clear audio, so your child can hear, point and repeat.

Which body parts are on this page?

The word list above shows all 30 with pictures, Hindi names and pronunciation, and prints as a body parts name chart. Here they are grouped the way children learn them, from the easiest to the hardest.

The first three groups are external body parts, the ones you can see and touch. The last group gives the easiest internal body parts name list for kids: the brain helps us think, the heart pumps blood, the lungs help us breathe and the bones hold us up. That is enough for class 1; the rest can wait for science lessons later.

In Hindi schoolbooks this topic is called शरीर के अंगों के नाम. If your child's teacher asks for the शरीर के अंगों के नाम हिंदी और इंग्लिश में, the word list above covers 30, so it works whether the homework asks for 10, 15 or 20 body parts. A common question is the knee in Hindi: it is घुटना, and in the game you hear "Knee, घुटना".

How to use the body parts game

  • Listen: tap a card, for example the eye, and hear "Eye, आँख" with a short fact such as "We see with our eyes." Encourage your child to touch their own eye at the same time.
  • Find it: Golu asks "Where is the knee?" and your child taps from 2 to 4 big pictures. The game never says "wrong". A mistaken tap hears the name of what was tapped, the right picture glows, and then Golu points.
  • Memory: find matching pairs of pictures, a good body parts name game for 4- to 6-year-olds.

Each game ends with a marble in the Goli Jar; tap the jar and count the marbles together. The अ+A button switches between Hindi first, English first, Hindi only or English only. In Settings, behind a grown-up check, set your child's age (which changes how many choices appear), and turn on fewer choices, calm sound, calm motion, captions or high contrast.

What your child can learn at each age

Age and classWhat is realisticTry this
2-3 years (toddlers)Points to 5-10 parts on themselves when named; says a fewListen mode together; "touch your nose" games; bath-time naming.
3-4 years (nursery, LKG)Names 10-15 parts in the home language, some in the secondFind it on the easiest level; "Simon says" in Hindi and English.
4-5 years (UKG)Names about 20 parts, knows what eyes, ears, nose and tongue doMemory game; five senses talk; drawing a person with all parts.
5-6 years (class 1, class 2)Names all 30, including 4 inside parts; writes simple namesA labelled chart; body parts name worksheet from the printed page.

Most 2-year-olds can point to several body parts when you name them; this is one of the everyday language milestones doctors ask about. If your child cannot point to any body parts by around 2, mention it to your paediatrician. There is no rush beyond that.

How to teach body parts to a child at home

Children learn body words best with their own body, not a picture alone. Try five minutes a day inside things you already do.

  1. Bath time: "Let's wash your हाथ, your hands. Now your पैर, your feet." Name each part as you wash it.
  2. Getting dressed: "Arm in the sleeve, head through the hole." Clothes are a natural body parts lesson; see clothes name in Hindi.
  3. Song: sing "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" in English, then try it in Hindi: सिर, कंधे, घुटने, पैर. Speed it up for giggles.
  4. Simon says: "Golu says touch your elbow!" Swap languages each round.
  5. Mirror game: stand in front of a mirror and point to cheeks, chin, lips and teeth. Make silly faces and name the emotions too.
  6. Park: "Which body part do you use to climb? To kick? To clap?" This links nouns to action words.

Draw around your child on a big sheet of paper (old newspaper taped together works). Let them label body parts with sticky notes in Hindi and English. It makes a proud body parts chart for the wall and a great school project.

Writing body parts in Hindi (body parts hindi mein kaise likhate hain)

Many body parts in Hindi are short and good for early writing. For children learning matras, sort them like this:

  • No matra at all: सिर needs a matra, but पग, कर and नख (older words for foot, hand and nail) do not. Teachers often ask for three body parts without a matra, and these three work.
  • With aa ki matra (ा): बाल, नाक, कान, गाल, हाथ. Five easy words for body parts in Hindi with aa ki matra.
  • With other matras: पीठ (ई), मुँह (ु), पेट (े), होंठ (ो).

In English, start with three-letter words: eye, ear, arm, leg, toe. They are perfect for learning body parts name with spelling. To make a worksheet for class 1 or UKG, print this page from your browser and cover one column of the word list. We do not offer a PDF file, but the list prints neatly.

Fun facts about our body for kids

  • Your heart is about the size of your fist, and it beats faster when you run.
  • A grown-up has 206 bones; a baby is born with more, which join together as it grows.
  • Your tongue helps you taste sweet laddoo and sour lemon.
  • Your nails and hair keep growing all your life, which is why we cut them.
  • In Ayurveda and in daily Indian life, tel malish (oil massage) is a lovely time to name body parts with a baby.

Body safety, calm learning and inclusion

Learning body parts is also the first step in body safety. Use the correct words calmly, including for private parts when your child asks, and teach that "the parts covered by a swimsuit are private". The safety rules for kids page has gentle scripts. Keep this page to everyday parts; you can talk about private parts at home in your own words.

Praise effort, not perfection: "You found your elbow!" If your child gets frustrated, switch to Listen mode, lower the choices in Settings, or leave the screen and play a touch game. For a child with speech delay, pointing is real knowledge, so count it. Autistic children may dislike being touched during games; let them point on a doll or a picture instead. In bilingual homes, teach one language at a time, then add the second. For children under 2, a grown-up naming body parts at bath time is far better than a screen; for older children, short co-play sessions work best. If you are worried about your child's development, talk to your paediatrician.

When your child knows their body, try good habits for kids like washing hands and brushing teeth, or family members name in Hindi.

How to use this page at home

Say it, then find it

Play for a few minutes, then look for the same thing away from the screen: body parts name on the shelf, in the kitchen, on the way to school. A child learns a word properly when they meet it twice, once on the screen and once in their hand.

Ten minutes is enough

Short and happy beats long and tired. Stop while your child still wants more, and come back tomorrow: the same page on five short days teaches far more than one long sitting. Nothing here is scored, so there is no reason to push.

Use both languages

Tap the language button at the top to hear the words in your home language first and the second language after. Hearing the same picture named in two languages is one of the few things research agrees builds attention as well as vocabulary.
