For grown-ups बड़ों के लिए

This page gathers all the learning games for kids on CodingMarble Kids in one place, from a toddler's first tap to a UKG child reading three-letter words. Every game is free, runs in your phone's browser and speaks each word in Hindi and English. Below the cards you will find a guide for grown-ups: which game suits which age, how each one teaches, and how to turn five minutes of play into real learning at home.

What are learning games for kids? The five kinds on this site

A learning game is play with a small, clear goal: hear a word, find a picture, count some things, spot a pattern. The goal is the lesson, and the fun keeps a child coming back. Here is what the games on this site actually do.

Listen and find games

On picture pages such as animals name, fruits name or vehicles, your child first taps a picture to hear its name. Then Golu asks, "Where is the mango?" and shows 2 to 4 big picture choices. Animal pages add "Who makes this sound?", "Silly or right?" ("The cow says quack!"), animal babies and animal homes.

Counting games for kids

The counting games ask a child to tap each object as they count, then ask "how many?". Others show numbers that come before and after, addition with pictures, a 1-100 chart in English or Hindi ginti, and tables from 2 to 10. Start with counting 1 to 10.

Letter and reading games

Learning games for kids letters include the Hindi varnamala, a tappable barakhadi grid (33 consonants in 12 forms), ABCD with pictures, phonics sounds, capital and small letters, rhyming words and CVC words with a "sound it out" button. For older children, three-letter words are the first real reading game.

Thinking games

Odd one out, big and small, opposites, patterns, the memory game (find the pairs) and the plant-parts puzzle ask a child to compare, remember and put things in order. These build the thinking behind early maths and science.

Free-play games

The baby keyboard turns every key or tap into a letter, a Hindi swar, a number or an animal sound. The colouring pages let a child tap to fill or paint with a brush, and the jokes page has riddles and tongue twisters to read aloud together.

Which learning games suit which age?

Pick by what your child can already do, not only by birthday. You can also set the age band in Settings (behind a grown-up check): it changes how many choices appear and how long each round is.

AgeBest games to startWhat the game builds
2-3 years (toddlers)Baby keyboard, animal sounds, colours, fruits (Listen mode)New words, cause and effect, listening
3-4 years (nursery, pre-K)A se anar, ABCD, counting 1 to 10, shapes, memory game with few pairsLetter names, one-to-one counting, shape names
4-5 years (LKG)Phonics sounds, ka kha ga, odd one out, patterns, oppositesLetter sounds, sorting, simple reasoning
5-6 years (UKG, kindergarten)Three-letter words, barakhadi, addition, rhyming words, tablesBlending sounds to read, adding within 10

For a single list per year, open games for 3 year olds or games for 5 year olds. Our preschool games for 3 year olds use only two or three big choices; preschool games for 4 year olds add a third or fourth and a few more questions per round.

What games are good for toddlers?

Good learning games for toddlers do one thing at a time, respond instantly to a tap, speak the word clearly and never punish a mistake. They are short and they are shared: a 2 year old learns the word "cow" from the picture, but learns it far better when you say "Moo! The cow says moo. Where is our cow?" and point to the toy on the floor.

Indian paediatric guidance (IAP, 2022) says children aged 2 to 5 should have no more than 1 hour of screen time a day, always supervised, with sessions of 20-30 minutes at most. For toddlers we suggest far less: 5-10 minutes, sitting together. For babies under 2, doctors advise no screen at all, so see our parent guide on learning for 1 year old babies instead.

How to make learning fun for toddlers and preschoolers

  • Let your child choose. Offer two cards: "Animals or colours?" A child who picks the game plays it longer.
  • Play along out loud. Say the word with the voice, make the animal noise, count on your fingers.
  • Stop while it is fun. End after one or two rounds, while your child still wants more. Tomorrow they will ask for it.
  • Count the Goli Jar together. Every finished game drops a marble in the jar. Tapping the jar and counting the marbles is a lovely, natural counting game.
  • Finish off-screen. Each game ends with a small mission, like finding something red in the room. Do it together. This is where the word becomes real.

Learning games for kids at home, without a screen

The best educational games for kids at home are often free and need no device at all. Use the words from the online games in these real-world versions:

  • Kitchen "find it". "Where is the टमाटर? Where is the potato?" Your child fetches or points.
  • Market counting. Count bananas into the bag: one, two, three, then एक, दो, तीन.
  • Park sound game. Close your eyes and listen. A crow? A scooter? A dog? Name each sound.
  • Odd one out on the plate. Three spoons and one fork: which is different?
  • Memory with cards. Two sets of old playing cards, face down, a few pairs at a time.

Are free games really free?

Many "free" kids' apps earn money from ads, paid levels or data about your child. These free learning games for kids are different: no sign-up, no ads, no in-app purchases, no tracking and no child's name. Progress (the marbles) stays on your own device. There is nothing to install, because it works in any browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and it keeps working on a slow connection once a page has loaded.

Learning games for kids with autism, speech delay or sensory needs

The games were designed to be calm and predictable. Settings include calm motion, calm sound, captions, fewer choices and high contrast. A wrong tap never gets a buzzer: the game says the name of what was tapped, then the right answer glows, then Golu points to it. For a child with speech delay, use Listen mode and say each word slowly together; there is no need to answer. For a bilingual child, pick one language first with the अ+A button, then add the second. If you are worried about your child's speech or development, talk to your paediatrician.

Kids English learning games and Hindi games

Every word is spoken in both languages in a clear recorded voice. That helps a Hindi-speaking child build English vocabulary for school, and it helps a child growing up abroad keep Hindi alive. Choose Hindi then English, English then Hindi, Hindi only or English only from the अ+A button in the header.

Learning Games for Kids: questions parents ask

What is the best learning game for a 3 year old?
Games that name things and ask your child to find them: animals, fruits, colours and counting 1 to 10. Keep choices to two or three and play together for 5-10 minutes.
Are these learning games for kids free?
Yes, completely. There is no sign-up, no ads, no in-app purchases and no tracking. Progress is saved only on your device.
What are some fun learning games for kids at home?
Kitchen "find it" (point to the onion, the tomato), counting fruit at the market, a listening walk in the park, odd one out with spoons and forks, and a memory game with pairs of cards. Pair them with the matching online game.
Do these games work on an iPad or Android phone?
Yes. They run in the browser on iPads, Android phones, tablets and computers. There is no app to download.
How long should my child play learning games each day?
Indian paediatricians (IAP) advise at most 1 hour of screen time a day for ages 2 to 5, with sessions of no more than 20-30 minutes. For toddlers, 5-10 minutes with you is plenty. Under 2, avoid screens.
Are there educational games for kids in Hindi?
Yes. Every game speaks in Hindi and English, and there are Hindi-only topics such as varnamala, ka kha ga, barakhadi, Hindi ginti and two-letter Hindi words.
Can kindergarten children use these games for reading and maths?
Yes. Phonics sounds, three-letter words, rhyming words, addition with pictures, the 1-100 chart and tables 2-10 match what LKG, UKG and kindergarten classes practise.
