Be patient and positive
- Some children read जल as "ja-la" for a while. That is fine; it shows they are decoding. Say "yes, जल!" and move on.
- If your child guesses from the picture, cover the pictures and ask them to read first.
- For a child with speech delay, pointing to the picture is a full answer. Talk to your paediatrician if you are worried.
- In bilingual homes, let your child say the English word too; knowing फल is "fruit" helps both languages.
- Keep screen sessions short (5-10 minutes), sit together, and finish with real-world reading.
