How to use the animal name game
- Listen: tap any picture to hear the animal name in Hindi and English both. Tap as many times as your child likes.
- Find it: Golu asks "Where is the lion?" and your child taps the right picture from 2-4 big choices.
- Sounds: hear a sound word like "roar" and pick who makes it. This is our animals name and sound mode.
- Silly or right?: "The cow says quack!" Your child decides if it is silly or right. Children love catching Golu out.
- Memory: turn over cards to find matching pairs.
The games never say "wrong". A wrong tap gets a gentle hint: first the name of the animal your child tapped, then a glow on the right one, then Golu points. Every finished round drops a marble into the Goli Jar, and you can tap the jar to count marbles together. Use the अ+A button in the header to hear Hindi first, English first, or only one language. Settings, behind a grown-up check, let you set your child's age, which changes how many choices appear, and turn on calm motion, calm sound or fewer choices.
This animal name game online also keeps working on a weak connection once the page has opened, which helps on a train or at grandma's house.
Animals name chart with pronunciation you can print
The word list above is your animals name chart: every animal has a picture, the English name, the Hindi name in Devanagari, a pronunciation guide and 🔊 buttons. That makes it a pronunciation guide you can check before class. Many parents look for a PDF; there is no separate PDF file, but you can print this page from your browser and the word list prints cleanly on A4. Stick the printout on the fridge as a chart.

How to learn animal names at home in 10 minutes a day
How to learn animal names quickly? Use short, happy sessions and real life. Children remember a word when they hear it many times in different places, so the screen is only one of those places.
- Morning (2 minutes): play Listen together and pick "today's animal".
- On the way out: look for today's animal, or a picture of it, on the road, in a book or on a biscuit packet.
- Evening (5 minutes): play Find it or Memory, then act out the animal: stomp like an elephant, hop like a rabbit.
- Bedtime: ask "Which animal did we see today?" in both languages.
Other play ideas: make animal masks from paper plates, sort toy animals into a "farm" box and a "jungle" box, or play "I am thinking of an animal that says moo". At the vegetable market, point out the cow near the stall. At a park, look for squirrels (गिलहरी) and crows. These real-world links make animals in Hindi and English stick far better than a long list.
How to write animal names (animals name kaise likhe)
At 5-6 years, children start writing short names. Begin with three-letter English names like cat, dog, pig and rat, which also fit the three letter words page. For Hindi, start with short words such as गाय, बकरी and भालू. Say the word slowly, write it big with your child, then let them trace it. For children who are not ready for writing, keep it oral: naming is the goal, and spelling comes later.
Gentle facts to share while you play
- The elephant is the largest land animal. The Asian elephant lives in Indian forests.
- The tiger is India's national animal, and India is home to most of the world's wild tigers.
- A camel can walk for days in the desert of Rajasthan without drinking.
- The blue whale is the biggest animal that has ever lived.
- A yak has long, thick hair that keeps it warm high up in Ladakh.
Festivals are good moments too: cows are decorated at Pongal and Gopashtami, and in many villages bulls are dressed up at harvest time. Outside India, children in the UK, US or Australia may know the sheep, fox and kangaroo first. Start with the animals your child actually sees.
Tips for every child: no pressure, lots of praise
Praise effort, not only right answers: "You listened so carefully!" If your child gets frustrated, stop and go back to Listen mode, which has no questions at all. Some children are scared of loud animals; you can pick calm sound in settings and choose gentle animals like the rabbit first.
For children with speech delay, it is fine if they point instead of speaking. Say the name for them, pause, and smile. Autistic children often enjoy the predictable Listen and Memory modes; fewer choices and calm motion in settings can help. In bilingual homes, you do not need to "choose" a language: hearing हाथी and "elephant" together is good for children. If you are worried about your child's speech, talk to your paediatrician.
Screen time: keep sessions short and play together. Children under 2 learn better from a grown-up and real objects than from any screen, so for babies use toy animals and picture books, and let this page be for you to learn the words.
