Three ways to sing

🎵 With music plays the tune under Golu's voice. 🐢 Sing after me sings one line, then plays the tune again with no words so your child can sing it back — the call-and-response way songs have been taught for thousands of years. 🗣️ No music speaks each line slowly, which is best for learning the words the first few times.

Do the actions

Each line has a small picture that pops up beside Golu: clap, wave, stamp, breathe. Doing the action while singing the word is how young children remember both. If your child only does the actions and does not sing at all, that is a perfectly good start.

Why songs matter at this age

Songs slow language down, repeat it and put a beat under it, which is exactly what a young brain needs to pull words apart. Children who sing a lot hear the syllables and rhymes inside words earlier, and that listening skill is the strongest early sign of how easily a child will learn to read. A song is also a routine you can carry anywhere: sung at the same moment each day, it tells a child what comes next without a single instruction.
