3. Act it out. Roar like સિંહ, jump like વાંદરો, hop like દેડકો.
4. Balgeet. Many Gujarati children's songs are about animals, such as the sparrow, the peacock and the cat. Sing one and act it out.

Talk about feeding birds: many Gujarati families scatter grain for ચકલી (sparrows) and pigeons, and villages have a chabutro, a tall bird-feeding tower. It links words with kindness.

What to expect by age

At 2-3, children learn 5-10 animals, mostly pets and farm animals, and love the sounds. At 3-4, they name 15-20 animals and sort them into pets, wild and water animals. Tips for every child

Animal games suit almost every child, including children with speech delay or autism, because animals are concrete and fun.
