This is a first reading game in Spanish (Latin America). A short word is written in big letters. Your child reads it and taps the picture it names. The shortest words come first, so the first rounds feel easy, and the 🔊 button reads the word aloud for a child who is stuck.
How reading starts
Children read their first words by joining sounds they already know. Before this game, play the Spanish (Latin America) alphabet and letter tracing. When a word is read correctly, it is spoken in Spanish (Latin America) and English, so the child hears that they were right.
Tips for grown-ups
- Let your child try before pressing 🔊.
- Run a finger under the word from start to end while they read.
- Five or six words is a good session. Stop while it is fun.
- Write the same words on paper labels at home.
Now do it for real
When the screen goes off, do something with your hands. Try 🎶 Make a shaker — an easy craft for ages 2-5, with every step read aloud in your language. You will need an empty bottle with a lid, rice or small pulses, tape; nothing that needs a trip to a shop.
